Katheryne Flynn

May 25, 1957 — October 2, 2026

In loving memory of Katheryne Flynn, who graced this world with her presence on May 25, 1957, in Lancaster, Ohio, and departed on October 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Katheryne's life, though touched by challenges, was a remarkable journey of love, laughter, and kindness that left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Katheryne was the cherished daughter of Leonard and Doyce Strickland, who predeceased her, along with her siblings Theresa Ann, Suellen, Karon Kay, Geary Amos Sr., and her beloved youngest son, John Derik. She is survived by her devoted husband of 26 years, Patrick Flynn, whose partnership and love were a testament to a truly happy and fulfilling marriage. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she took immense pride in her children: Jim Metzger and his wife Styrling, Mariah Metzger, Greg Pierce, Tammy Pike, and Courtney and Jeremy Hunt. Katheryne's legacy continues through her nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life and the source of her greatest joy. Katheryne dedicated 25 years to her career at Auto Zone, where she was known not only for her dedication and work ethic but also for her quick wit and warm smile. Her ability to lighten the mood with a joke and her gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued were qualities that endeared her to colleagues and customers alike. Her passions were as varied as they were vibrant. She found serenity in fishing and boating, creativity in diamond paintings, and joy in cheering for Thunder basketball and OU football. Above all, her greatest delight was spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her beloved mini schnauzers, who were never far from her side. Katheryne's kindness and generosity touched countless lives, leaving a legacy of love and warmth. She had a unique ability to connect with people, making them feel special and cherished. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, but her spirit and the memories she created will live on. A service to celebrate Katheryne’s life will be held on October 13, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Moore Funeral and Cremation, located at 400 SE 19th St., Moore, OK 73160. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor her memory and celebrate the beautiful life she lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Katheryne’s memory to the American Stroke Foundation, an organization that was close to her heart. Katheryne Flynn will be remembered as a beacon of light and love, whose laughter and kindness enriched the lives of everyone she encountered. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were privileged to know her.
