It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Katherine Scevers, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who left this world peacefully on March 5, 2026, at the age of 95. Katherine was born on December 29, 1930, in the warm and welcoming town of Lubbock, Texas, a place that always held a special corner in her heart. Katherine was a beacon of kindness and strength, her life a testament to resilience and love. She spent her formative years in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where she completed her high school education. Her years in Hot Springs were marked by an indomitable spirit and an eagerness to learn, qualities that would guide her throughout her life journey. On March 3, 1950, Katherine married the love of her life, Lee Nation. Their union was a remarkable partnership built on unwavering love and mutual respect. Together, they cultivated a life filled with laughter, adventure, and a deep-rooted commitment to family values. Though Lee preceded her in death, their shared memories continued to light Katherine’s path, a testament to a love that transcended time. Katherine was a matriarch whose nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family. She was a devoted mother to Jonita and Wesley Tolman, who survive her and carry forward her legacy of compassion and integrity. Katherine's family was the cornerstone of her existence, and she took immense pride in her two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, cherishing each moment spent in their company. Her home was often filled with the joyous laughter of children, a sanctuary of warmth and unconditional love. She was predeceased by her beloved partner, Lee Nation, and cherished sons Ed Scevers and Mike Nation. Though their absence was deeply felt, Katherine found comfort in the enduring bonds of family and the precious memories they shared. She was known for her remarkable ability to listen, offering solace and guidance to those fortunate enough to know her. Friends and family alike were drawn to her infectious smile and warm embrace, finding in her a confidante who could always be relied upon. In her later years, Katherine found joy in simple pleasures – a beautifully tended garden, the company of good friends, and the laughter of her great-grandchildren. Her legacy is one of love, kindness, and an unwavering faith in the goodness of people. As we bid farewell to Katherine, we do so with gratitude for the immeasurable impact she had on our lives. She leaves behind a tapestry of treasured memories and a family united by her unwavering love. Katherine's spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, a reminder that the truest measure of a life well-lived is the love we give and the lives we touch.
