Katherine "Kathy" Newell

Katherine "Kathy" Newell, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, at the age of 62 from natural causes. Kathy was born on July 6, 1964, in Pierre, South Dakota, to Pete and Betty, who predeceased her. Kathy's early years were spent in the warmth of a loving family alongside her siblings Russ, Donna, Jerry, Barbara, and Charles, all of whom have preceded her in death. Kathy's journey took her to Baker, Montana, where she graduated high school, laying the foundation for a life filled with love, dedication, and service. She married Dale Newell, her devoted partner in life, with whom she shared a bond that was admired by all who knew them. Together, they raised two wonderful sons, Dallas and Kelby, who were the pride and joy of her life. Kathy's legacy continues through her six granddaughters, Renli, Haezli, Journi, Kora, Kyra, and Kiara, each of whom brought immeasurable joy to her days. Kathy's professional journey was marked by integrity and dedication. She found fulfillment in her work, initially within the grocery and furniture sales industries, before dedicating 24 years to the service of Fallon County in the Clerk and Recorder office. Her colleagues and community respected her deeply for her professionalism and unwavering commitment. A woman of faith, Kathy was a devoted member of the American Lutheran Church, where her kindness and thoughtfulness were felt by many. Her gentle spirit and compassionate nature were hallmarks of a life well-lived. Outside of her professional and spiritual pursuits, Kathy found joy in the beauty of nature. She cherished hiking wilderness trails, where she could savor the peace and serenity of the world around her. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved grandchildren, nurturing them with her love and wisdom. Kathy's life will be celebrated in a private ceremony attended by her closest family members, in accordance with her wishes. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in honor of Kathy's generous spirit and her lifelong commitment to helping others. Kathy Newell's legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will forever be cherished by her family and friends. She leaves behind a world made brighter by her presence and a family whose hearts are forever touched by her enduring love.
