Katherine Irene Caddell
January 22, 1942 — May 20, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Katherine Irene Caddell, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who peacefully departed this world on May 20, 2026, in the comfort of her sleep. Born on January 22, 1942, in the small, close-knit town of Rosebud-Lott, Texas, Katherine was a beacon of warmth and kindness, profoundly touching the lives of all who had the joy of knowing her.
Katherine was the beloved daughter of the late Sam and Annie Baty. Growing up in a large family, she was predeceased by her siblings Sammie Lois Baty Wiggs, Johnny E Baty, George Washington Baty, Sr., Pauline Baty Hargrove, and Dollie Nadine Baty Kent. Despite these losses, Katherine's life was filled with love and laughter, partly due to her surviving sister, Anna Lou Stone, with whom she shared countless cherished memories.
In June, Katherine married the love of her life, James Lynn Caddell, with whom she shared a beautiful journey marked by companionship, love, and unwavering support. Their marriage was blessed with three devoted daughters: Barbara Lynn Fox, married to Bill; Becky Roxanna Flanagan; and Brenda Kay Vandiver, married to Bert. Katherine was a loving mother who instilled in her daughters the values of compassion, resilience, and the importance of family.
Her legacy continues through her five adored grandchildren: Hannah Flanagan, Gavin Flanagan, Ben Bennett, Brooklyn Bennett, and Brinley Bennett, who brought immense joy and pride into her life. Katherine embraced her role as a grandmother with open arms, always ready to share stories, laughter, and a warm embrace.
Katherine's character was defined by her love for conversation, animals, and the great outdoors. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life and was known for her generous spirit and willingness to help others. Her laughter was infectious, and her kind heart left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
The family invites friends and loved ones to join in a celebration of Katherine's life on May 23, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Hillcrest Cemetery, located at FM 147 Marlin, TX 76661. As we gather to honor her memory, we find solace in knowing she is at peace, reunited with her loved ones who passed before her, and forever watching over those she leaves behind.
Katherine Irene Caddell's legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will forever be cherished and remembered by all who were fortunate enough to be touched by her presence. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
