Katherine Harrell
July 23, 1954 — August 26, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Katherine Harrell on August 26, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on July 23, 1954, in the quaint town of Stony Creek, Virginia, Katherine was a beloved daughter to Edward Lee and Ann Lee. Her life was a testament to love, dedication, and the simple joys of family and community.
In 1977, Katherine married the love of her life, Thomas Harrell, and together they built a life full of devotion and partnership. As a farmer's wife, Katherine embraced the joys and challenges of rural life, finding fulfillment in her role as a housewife and mother. Her family always came first, and she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to ensuring their happiness and well-being.
Katherine's love for her family was evident in every pie she baked, each one crafted with the intention of bringing smiles to the faces of her loved ones. She found joy in these small acts of love and took pride in nurturing those around her. As a long-standing member of Lennon Baptist Church for over 40 years, Katherine's faith was a guiding force in her life, and she cherished the sense of community and purpose it provided.
Katherine is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Melissa Moore, her sister, Jane Lee, and her cherished granddaughters, Kristin Mattox and Cassie Robertson. Her granddaughters were the light of her life, and she adored watching them grow and thrive.
Preceding her in death was her beloved husband, Thomas Harrell, whose memory Katherine held dear to her heart until her final days.
In honoring Katherine's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held. To continue her legacy of care and compassion, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Katherine's memory to the Alzheimer's Research Association, an organization dedicated to advancing research and support for those affected by Alzheimer's disease. The organization is based in Saint Clair Shores, MI.
Katherine Harrell's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, faith, and dedication. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit and the warmth she brought to the lives of others will remain forever cherished.
