December 19, 1939 — April 18, 2026

It is with heavy hearts yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived and well-loved that we announce the passing of Katherine Breckner, who departed this world peacefully on April 18, 2026, at the age of 86. Katherine was born on December 19, 1939, in the picturesque town of Salzburg, Germany—a place she always held dear to her heart and spoke of with fond nostalgia. Katherine's journey through life was a rich tapestry woven with love, laughter, and an enduring devotion to family. She was the beloved wife of the late George Breckner, whom she married in Germany. Their union was a testament to true partnership, filled with mutual respect and unwavering support until George's passing in 2025. Together, they built a life centered around cherished family traditions and joyous gatherings, especially during the Christmas season, which held special significance being so close to Katherine's birthday. Her career as a housemaid was marked by integrity and diligence, but it was her role as a homemaker and devoted partner to George that truly defined her life's work. Katherine's home was a haven of warmth and welcome, a place where family and friends found solace and joy, and where laughter often echoed through the walls. Katherine's love for art and fine dining was matched only by her passion for bringing people together. Known for her excellent listening skills and adept communication, she had an uncanny ability to uplift those around her, often leaving them in fits of laughter with her sharp wit and delightful humor. To be in her presence was to be enveloped in a sense of happiness and contentment, a gift she freely gave to all who knew her. Her legacy lives on through her three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her spirit of love and joy. Katherine's life was a testament to the power of connection and community, and her memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. A service to celebrate Katherine's extraordinary life will be held on April 1, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Saint Joseph Shrine, located at 1828 Jay St. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to all who have shown their support and love in commemorating Katherine's remarkable journey. In our hearts, Katherine's laughter continues to echo, her spirit remains vibrant, and her love endures. May she rest in eternal peace, forever remembered and forever loved.
