Born on September 28, 1942, in Nashville, Tennessee, Katherine was the cherished daughter of John and Elizabeth Vaughn. Throughout her life, Katherine was the heart of her family, always ensuring that her home was a haven filled with love, laughter, and the enticing aroma of her delicious cooking. Her passion for hosting family gatherings created a nurturing space where everyone felt at home. Katherine's kitchen was the center of warmth and comfort—a place where stories were shared, and memories were made. Katherine is survived by her devoted husband, Donald Ellis, whose partnership with Katherine spanned decades of love and companionship. Her siblings, Pam Smith, Dorthy Jones, and Jack Smith, remember her as a sister whose kindness and generosity knew no bounds. She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren: Katlin Zavala, Landon Vaughn, Katie Vaughn, Trinity Jones, and Collin Smith. To them, she was not only a grandmother but a cornerstone in their lives, always ready with a comforting word or a listening ear. Her love extended to her five great-grandchildren: Skylar Vaughn, Tate Vaughn, Kamila Zavala, Lucas Zavala, and Gerardo Zavala, who will carry her spirit with them as they grow. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor her wishes and to allow her family to celebrate her life in an intimate setting. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Katherine's memory, reflecting her generous spirit and the love she shared with all who knew her.
