In Loving Memory

Katelyn Allen
July 12, 1960 — April 14, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Katelyn Allen, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, who left this world on April 14, 2026, at Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, surrounded by the love and comfort of her daughters. Born on July 12, 1960, in Houston, Texas, Katelyn, affectionately known as Kay, was the cherished daughter of Richard and Helen (Pinter) Allen.
Kay was a woman of incredible warmth, whose life was a tapestry of love, service, and adventure. Her journey took her from her Houston roots to various corners of the world, yet she always carried with her an unwavering commitment to helping others. Kay settled down in Montello, Wisconsin and found her calling in home health care, where her compassion and dedication touched countless lives. Her career in bartending also brought her joy, as she thrived in environments where she could connect with people and share stories.
Kay's life was rich with interests that reflected her zest for life. She had an eye for the unique and the beautiful, which she expressed through her love of antique shopping and collecting. Her home was often filled with the sounds of old rock music, a testament to her vibrant spirit and the joy she found in life's simple pleasures. Kay had a special affinity for birds, particularly red cardinals and hummingbirds, which brought her peace and happiness. Her home was a haven for her beloved pets, who were her constant companions.
The heart of Kay's life was her family, whom she adored above all. She leaves behind her treasured children: Mandy Swann, Amy Helton, and Daniel Ranallo, who were her pride and joy. Her siblings, Steve Allen (wife Karen), Patty Allen, Rick Pinter, David Pinter (wife Rhonda), and Robert Allen (wife Debbie), will forever hold her memory in their hearts. Kay was a proud grandmother to Sawyer, Haley, Logan, Nicholas, Trey, Albert Jr., Zavior, and her four great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.
Though Kay faced the sorrow of losing her fiancé, Todd Deshler, her parents, her sister Beverly, her brother James, and her grandchildren Kyle Lipscomb and Trevor Helton, she carried their memories with her, finding strength in their love.
In her later years, Kay formed a special bond with her dear friend, John Ellison, whose companionship was a source of comfort and happiness. Together, they shared countless moments of laughter and reflection, adding another layer of richness to her life.
As we bid farewell to Kay, we celebrate a life well-lived, a life marked by kindness, resilience, and an indomitable spirit. Her legacy is carried forward by those whose lives she touched, a testament to her enduring impact.
A service to honor Kay's life will be held at a future date, where family and friends will gather to remember the extraordinary woman she was. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a cancer charity.
Kay Allen's memory will forever be a guiding light to those who had the privilege of knowing her, reminding us to live with love, grace, and a heart open to the world.
