Katelin Elizabeth Magin passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 20, 2026, just shy of her 27th birthday. Born on August 26, 1999, in Puyallup, Washington, Katelin was a beacon of light and kindness in her community, known for her warm smile and generous spirit. Katelin was the beloved daughter of Shawn and Grace Magin, and she grew up surrounded by love and laughter in Puyallup. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she cherished her sister, Alissa Lauren Magin, and her stepmother, Norene Magin, deeply. A special bond formed when Katelin met her fiancé, Michael Stixrud, in Puyallup. Their love story began on December 14, 2018, and together they shared countless beautiful memories. A proud alumna of Puyallup High School, Katelin graduated in 2017, leaving behind a legacy of friendship and sportsmanship, especially through her love for basketball. Her vibrant spirit continued to shine through her work at Fred Meyer, both in Puyallup and Sumner, Washington, where she dedicated five years of service. Her colleagues and customers will remember her friendly nature and infectious enthusiasm. Katelin had a heart for service, generously volunteering at the Special Olympics spring track meet each year. Her passion for helping others was matched only by her love for riding her bicycle, a pastime that brought her immense joy and freedom. She was always eager to lend a hand or share a smile, embodying a life of compassion and love. Her cat, Bella, was a cherished companion, and in a gesture of love, Katelin entrusted Bella to Michael, ensuring that her beloved pet would continue to be surrounded by care and affection. Katelin's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Central Pierce Fire Department and the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office for their professionalism and support during this difficult time. A celebration of Katelin's life will be held on September 17, 2026, at the Sumner Voiles Funeral Chapel, located at 15124 Main Street East. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the beautiful life of a remarkable young woman who touched the hearts of so many.
