Kasi passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, at the age of 50. Born on March 20, 1976, in the close-knit community of Ripley, Tennessee, Kasi was a beacon of kindness and compassion whose presence illuminated the lives of all who knew her. Kasi was the cherished daughter of Dale and Charlotte Koonce. She was preceded in death by her loving father, Dale, whose memory she held dear throughout her life. She is survived by her devoted mother, Charlotte, and her treasured sister, Kelly Koonce. Kasi's legacy of love and kindness lives on through her nephew, Kory Koonce, affectionately known as Grayson, her niece, Kayleigh Koonce, and her great nephew and two great nieces, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. A proud graduate of Ripley High School, Class of 1994, Kasi's journey of learning did not end there. She pursued her passion for caring for others by earning a nursing degree, a testament to her unwavering dedication to helping those in need. Her career in nursing was not just a profession; it was a calling that she embraced with open arms and a full heart. Her gentle touch and empathetic nature made her a cherished caregiver, bringing comfort and solace to countless patients and families. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Kasi was known for her vibrant spirit and her ability to find beauty in the simple joys of life. Her laughter was contagious, and her warmth was felt by everyone she encountered. She was an avid lover of nature, often finding peace and inspiration in the serene landscapes of her hometown. Her hobbies included gardening, where she nurtured life with the same tenderness she extended to those around her, and reading, where she found adventures and stories that fueled her imagination. A service to celebrate Kasi’s beautiful life will be held at her beloved family's church in Ripley, where she spent many Sundays surrounded by the love and support of her community. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity close to Kasi's heart, supporting the causes she believed in and championed throughout her life.
