In Loving Memory of Karl P. Drews It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Karl P. Drews, who departed on February 10, 2021. Born on March 26, 1958, in Staten Island, New York, Karl was a beloved son to Roy and Theresa Drews. He was predeceased by his father, Roy, and is survived by his devoted sister, Marie Drews D'Angelo, her husband Gerard D'Angelo, and his cherished niece, Holly Goroff. Karl was a proud alumnus of Tottenville High School and furthered his education at Salve Regina College and John Jay College of Criminal Justice. His career saw him travel extensively as an accomplished carpenter, lending his skills to the Marriott and various other hotel enterprises across the east coast, Texas, and Michigan. A man of many passions, Karl was a dedicated Civil War and World War II buff. He was a photographer, craftsman, a thinker, a wanderer and a man that made his own way in the world. He was known for his kindness, sensitivity, and intelligence. His quirky sense of humor and the occasional sound of bagpipes will be fondly remembered by those who knew him. Karl's memorial service is scheduled for October 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Holy Child Church, located at 4747 Amboy Road. We extend our gratitude to all who have shared their understanding regarding the delay of his memorial, as we awaited the passing of his dear mother. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Karl's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization close to Karl's heart. Karl's presence in our lives was a gift, and his memory will be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, forever remembered and forever loved.
