With heavy hearts and profound respect, we announce the passing of Karl L. Derieux, a cherished soul who graced this world from September 11, 1968, until his journey to the unknown on May 22, 2026. Born in the welcoming embrace of Roxborough, Pennsylvania, Karl spent his life leaving indelible marks on all those fortunate enough to know him. Karl was the beloved son of the late Karl and Barbara Derieux, whose values and love shaped the compassionate man he became. He left behind his sister Michelle Derieux Milley and his brother Timothy Derieux and a loving partner to his significant other of 18 years, Barbara Salcedo.Though fate did not bless him with grandchildren, his family extended beyond blood ties, encompassing his work family at AWS Landworks, where his presence was a source of strength and inspiration. Karl's journey of education began at Our Lady of Victories in Landisville, continuing through Williamstown High School, from which he graduated in 1987. His career unfurled with dedication and skill in operating heavy equipment, culminating in his respected role as a foreman at AWS Landworks. His colleagues there were not just coworkers but a second family who shared in his laughter and wisdom. A man of varied passions, Karl's heart beat to the rhythm of all types of music, a testament to his appreciation for the world's many melodies. His love for the outdoors was evident in his enthusiasm for bow hunting and his joy in embracing nature's elements, regardless of the weather. Among his tenderest memories was the companionship of his late Corgi, Rocky Derieux, with whom he shared countless cups of meatballs and moments of unconditional love. A service to celebrate Karl's life will be held on June 1, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Norton's Funeral Home, located at 1232 S Black Horse Pike, Williamstown, NJ 08094. In honor of Karl's memory, and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Lung Association, reflecting his enduring spirit of care and concern for others. As we bid farewell to Karl, let us remember him not in sorrow for his passing but in gratitude for the warmth and joy he brought into our lives. His legacy of kindness, courage, and love will forever echo in the hearts of all who knew him, ensuring that his spirit remains ever-present among us. Rest in peace, dear Karl, in the eternal embrace of the heavens.
