April 30, 1948 — March 19, 2026

It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Karl Heinz Kempfle, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who departed this life peacefully on March 19, 2026, at Lillooet District Hospital, surrounded by the warmth and love of his close family. He was 77 years old. Born on April 30, 1948, in the quaint village of Marienroda, Germany, Karl was the beloved son of Rosa Stolte. He was the youngest in a family that included several siblings who predeceased him. As the last of his family from that generation, he carried forward the legacy and stories of those who came before him. In 1969, Karl made the courageous decision to immigrate from Germany, bringing with him a rich cultural heritage and a passion for soccer that would leave an indelible mark on his new community. In his early years, Karl was called up from his home soccer team to the German National team for a brief but memorable period at the tender age of 15. This experience ignited a lifelong passion for the sport, which he generously shared by dedicating countless hours to coaching local children. His enthusiasm and dedication inspired many young athletes and left a lasting impact on the community. Karl's professional journey was as diverse and dynamic as his personality. He held various roles in fisheries and mining before dedicating 21 years of his career to Ainsworth. With an entrepreneurial spirit, he purchased and operated Triple K Taxi for 7 years, all while managing a ranch that thrived with hay and cattle until his well-deserved retirement. In 1972, Karl married the love of his life, Kathleen Frances Christy, with whom he shared a marriage marked by love, laughter, and mutual respect. Together, they built a loving family that became the center of Karl's world. He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathleen, and their two children: Duane Kempfle, his son, married to Dallas, and their daughters, Alyssa, Lexi, and Emery; and Melissa Kempfle, his daughter, married to Jo, and their sons, Brayden and Jack. Karl was also proud to be a great-grandfather to two beautiful great-grandchildren, each a testament to the enduring legacy of love and family that he cultivated. Though Karl's parents and siblings have predeceased him, his spirit and stories live on through his family and the countless lives he touched. His life was a testament to resilience, love, and dedication, and his memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. The Kempfle family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Lillooet District Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion during Karl's final days. Their kindness brought immense comfort to both Karl and his family. As we bid farewell to Karl, we celebrate a life well-lived and honor his legacy of love, compassion, and community spirit. May he rest in peace, his memory forever etched in our hearts.
