With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Karen Sue Huf, who left this world on February 11, 2026, just days shy of her 62nd birthday. Born on February 16, 1964, in St. Charles, Illinois, Karen was a beacon of strength and resilience, a woman who lived her life on her own terms with an unyielding spirit and a heart full of love for her family and friends. Karen was the cherished daughter of the late Gary and Mary Huf, who instilled in her the values of hard work and independence that she carried throughout her life. She was predeceased by her loving parents, whose memories she treasured deeply. Karen's journey took her through various roles, each of which she embraced with dedication and diligence. From managing a bustling bakery to guiding young minds safely as a bus driver, she brought a touch of grace and determination to every endeavor. Her career was a testament to her unwavering work ethic, a trait admired by all who knew her. At home, Karen found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid fan of scary movies, delighting in tales that sent shivers down the spine. Her love for animals was boundless, and she shared her life with her beloved pets—three cats, Cheyenne, Baby, and Iroquois, and her faithful dog, Eli. They were her constant companions, bringing warmth and comfort to her days. Karen's smile, though rare, was a sight to behold, illuminating the room with its beauty and grace. Despite her aversion to being photographed, those who were fortunate enough to capture her smile hold those moments dearly. She was known for her independence and determination, qualities that defined her life and inspired those around her. Karen is survived by her devoted children, Anthony (April) Huf and Kelly (Michael) Gallo, who were the pride and joy of her life. Her grandsons, Nathanial Nickolas and Anthony Jr., brought immense happiness to her heart, each visit and shared moment a cherished memory. She also leaves behind her brothers, Gary, Dave, and Mark, whose bond was a source of strength and love. In her final days, Karen found solace at Agrace Hospice Care in Madison, Wisconsin, surrounded by the love of her family, particularly her son’s presence, which brought her peace. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff at UW Hospital in Madison and Agrace Hospice Care in Fitchburg for their unwavering support and care. A private ceremony will be held to honor Karen's life, allowing her family to celebrate her legacy in an intimate setting. Though her presence will be sorely missed, Karen will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her. To all who knew and loved Karen, may her memory be a blessing, a reminder of a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and the enduring spirit of a remarkable woman. Forever in Our Hearts.
