Karen grew up in Wheatland, where she graduated from Wheatland High School in 2000. She was known for her bright spirit, infectious laughter, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. Her love for the outdoors was unparalleled; she found serenity in nature and joy in hiking, often sharing these moments with family and friends.
The Johnson family was the cornerstone of Karen's life. She held a special bond with her father, Paul, who passed away in July 2025, and her sister, Nell, who left this world in August 2026. Despite the heartache of these losses, Karen remained a pillar of strength and compassion for her loved ones. Her mother, Violet, her baby sister, Elsie Rouleau of Wichita, Kansas, her brother, Will Robinson of Wheatland, Missouri, and her sister, Alicia Zimmerly of Cleveland, Ohio, survive her, cherishing the memories they created together.
Although Karen never married, her life was filled with meaningful relationships and adventures. She had an extraordinary ability to make others feel valued and loved, creating lasting friendships and leaving an indelible impact on all who knew her.
A private funeral service will be held to honor Karen's remarkable life, allowing her family and close friends to bid her a heartfelt farewell.
