Karen Chevrier

July 6, 1961 — October 18, 2026

Karen Chevrier, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on October 18, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness. Born in Buffalo, NY, on July 6, 1961, Karen was the cherished daughter of Mary and Lewis Finch. Karen's life was marked by her deep love for her family and her passion for all living creatures. She graduated from Ahead High School in 1980 and soon after, in 1985, married the love of her life, Michael Chevrier. Together, they built a life filled with love and joy, welcoming their son, Darren Blackwood, and later doting on their three precious grandchildren: Isaiah Chevrier, Charlie Saumur, and Ellie Saumur. For 25 years, Karen dedicated herself to her work at Guilford Mill, where her colleagues remember her as a diligent and kind-hearted team member. Outside of work, Karen was known for her boundless compassion for animals of all shapes and sizes, often finding solace and happiness in their company. Karen is survived by her devoted husband, Michael; her son, Darren; her three grandchildren; and her sister, Leslie Finch. She was a beacon of warmth and kindness, and her gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A service to celebrate Karen's life will be held at Cornerstone Baptist Church on October 21, 2026, at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to make a donation to a charity of your choice in Karen's memory, honoring her generous and loving spirit. Karen's legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and she will be remembered always for her unwavering spirit and gentle soul.

In lieu of flowers, the family of Karen Chevrier welcomes donations to a charity, nonprofit, church, or organization of your choosing.
