It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kandi M.H. Snyder, who tragically left this world on April 18, 2023, at the age of 38. Born in the heart of Detroit, Michigan, on July 9, 1984, Kandi was a radiant soul whose life, though cut short, was filled with boundless love, laughter, and an indomitable spirit that touched everyone she met. She passed through a tragic shipping accident.
Kandi embarked on her life journey with the loving guidance of her parents, Joselyn Davis and Edmund Snyder. Her childhood in Detroit was marked by creativity and a zest for life that would define her future endeavors. Though she faced challenges in her early education, Kandi demonstrated remarkable resilience by earning her GED and later attending Northern State Community College. Her determination and commitment were evident to all who knew her.
In 2007, Kandi married the love of her life, John Snyder, in a ceremony filled with warmth and joy. Together, they crafted a beautiful family and shared 20 wonderful years of marriage until John's untimely passing. Their union was blessed with four cherished children: Maizy Ripke, David Snyder, Blake Snyder, and Leah Ripke, who were the pride and joy of Kandi's life. Her unwavering love and support were the cornerstones of their close-knit family.
Kandi devoted her career to helping others as a rehab psychologist, where she found her calling in aiding patients with their addictions. Her empathy, understanding, and dedication to her work provided hope and healing to countless individuals and made a lasting impact on the lives she touched.
An active member of the Catholic Church, Kandi found solace and strength in her faith. She was a beacon of kindness and generosity in her community, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear.
Kandi's vibrant personality was a tapestry of quirks and a lighthearted smile that could brighten the darkest of days. She was known for her love of attending parties and her skilled passion for drawing and painting, which allowed her to express her inner world and share her unique perspective with others.
Her life was enriched by her cherished friendships with Randi Parson, Chloe Schmidt, and Hudson James, who, along with her family, will forever hold her memory in their hearts. Though Kandi did not live to see grandchildren, the legacy of her love and spirit will be carried forward by her beloved children and all those whose lives she touched.
Though she has left this world far too soon, Kandi's essence will never be extinguished. Her light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the remarkable life she led, filled with laughter, love, and an indelible spirit that will never be forgotten.
A memorial service to honor and remember Kandi will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to organizations supporting addiction recovery, reflecting Kandi's enduring commitment to helping others.
Rest in peace, dear Kandi. You will be forever missed and eternally loved.
