May 25, 2000 — May 11, 2026

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kamea Jones, a cherished daughter, sister, godmother, and friend, who left this world far too soon on May 11, 2026, at the tender age of 25. Born on May 25, 2000, in Joliet, Illinois, Kamea was a radiant light in the lives of all who knew her, and her sudden departure in a tragic car accident has left an irreplaceable void. Kamea was the beloved daughter of Naomi Jones and Quan Cole, and the treasured stepdaughter of Jerry Green. She was a devoted sister to Zahkiya Green and a loving godmother to Kehlani, Kyden, and Kyeir. Her heart was expansive, and she found joy in nurturing her god siblings, Takeira, Trinity, Tristan, Kennedy, and Kylie, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter that will be cherished forever. An alumna of Joliet West High School and Ball State University, Kamea was as intellectually gifted as she was compassionate. Her passion for working with children was evident in every aspect of her life. She found immense joy in reading, writing, and giving back to her community, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to making a positive impact on those around her. Kamea's personal qualities were as vibrant and enduring as her smile, which could light up any room. She was a loving and determined young woman, whose life, though brief, was full of purpose and dedication to others. Known for her infectious laughter and sense of humor, she had an incredible ability to uplift those around her, always willing to lend a helping hand, even when she had little to spare herself. Her generosity of spirit and unwavering kindness touched countless lives, leaving a legacy of compassion and selflessness. A celebration of Kamea's life will be held on May 24, 2026, at 1:30 PM at St. John’s Church of Glory and Christ, located at 274 Dehlco Rd, Rayville, LA 71269. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Kamea are invited to honor her memory and celebrate the beautiful person she was. As we gather to remember Kamea, let us reflect on the profound impact she made in her short time with us. Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find solace in the memories of her love, laughter, and the joy she brought into our lives. Kamea's spirit will forever inspire us to love deeply, give generously, and laugh often. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to local children's charities, in honor of Kamea's unwavering dedication to nurturing and uplifting the young souls she so dearly cherished. Kamea's light may have dimmed on this earth, but her spirit will continue to shine brightly in our hearts, guiding us with her love and laughter until we meet again.
