With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Kaisetta Janair Brown, lovingly known as Ms. Kat, who departed this world peacefully on May 8, 2026, at Tranquility at Cobb Hospice Center. Born on August 12, 1955, in Los Angeles, California, Ms. Kat was a beacon of warmth, humor, and resilience. Her life was a testament to love, family, and unyielding strength.
Ms. Kat was the cherished daughter of the late Kaiser James Stanfield and Beatrice Casson Stanfield, and she was predeceased by her brother, James Kaiser Stanfield Jr., her brother-in-love, Thomas McMillan, and several beloved aunts and uncles. Her legacy is carried forward by her devoted children, Cla’Shonna H. Thomas, Robert W Singleton Jr., and Robin Lee Wood, as well as her adoring grandchildren Shariya (Joy) K.R. Wood, Gabrielle Alysse Wood, Walter J Wood II, Aaron Kaiser Thomas, and Tyus Gray. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Ariella Beth Lowry and Zuriyah Rae Thomas, who brought immense joy to her life.
Ms. Kat's surviving family includes her sister, Deandree (Stanfield) McMillan, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, who cherished her guidance and love. Her extended family, including Shamoa Williams, Janette Robinson, and Tanesha Robinson, along with countless others, shared a deep bond with her, creating a tapestry of love that will endure for generations.
Throughout her life, Ms. Kat wore many hats, from her career as an LPN, preschool teacher, postal worker, and chef, to her active participation in the Order of Eastern Stars and The Red Hat Society. Her dedication to her work was only matched by her commitment to her family and her faith. Ms. Kat found joy in attending church and treasured every moment spent with her family, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Known for her quick wit and humor, Ms. Kat possessed a determined spirit and an incredible resilience that inspired everyone around her. She faced life's challenges with grace and strength, always finding a way to make those around her feel loved and supported.
In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral service will be held to honor Ms. Kat's life. Her family finds comfort in the words of Psalms 27:1, knowing that she is now at peace and surrounded by light and love.
Ms. Kat's family has shared heartfelt tributes, each one a testament to her enduring impact and the love she nurtured in her lifetime. Her oldest daughter, Cla’Shonna, and her youngest daughter, Robin, have expressed their profound gratitude for her unwavering love and the lessons she imparted. Her niece, Shamoa, and her great-niece, Tiffany, have shared their cherished memories, highlighting the deep bonds of love and admiration Ms. Kat cultivated with all who knew her.
