Kai passed away on May 11, 2026, at the age of 38, following a tragic automobile accident in Queensland, Australia. Born on February 10, 1988, in Brisbane, Australia, Kai filled his life with vibrancy and love, leaving an indelible mark on the world around him. Kai was the cherished son of the late John and Caroline Sloan, and he shared a close bond with his siblings and extended family. Though preceded in death by his parents, sister Kasey Sloan-Rogers, brother-in-law Darren Rogers, brother Kadence Sloan, and son Jasper Sloan, Kai's spirit continues to live on in the hearts of those who loved him dearly. A graduate of the University of Southern Queensland Ipswich (UniSQ), Kai pursued his passion for pop culture by owning and operating a Zing Pop Culture shop in Queensland. His store was more than just a business; it was a hub of creativity and joy where Kai's infectious enthusiasm and quick wit were always on display. Alongside his entrepreneurial endeavors, Kai was a renowned DJ, bringing rhythm and joy to countless music events and festivals. His love for music and ability to connect with audiences through his DJing was a testament to his vibrant spirit and zest for life. Kai was an avid and active member of the QUT Surfer Club, where he found solace and exhilaration riding the waves. His love for the ocean was matched by his passion for various outdoor activities, including surfing, fishing, swimming, jet skiing, golfing, camping, and hiking. Kai's adventurous spirit was mirrored in his love for gaming, playing guitar and drums, and dancing, all of which he embraced with his characteristic joy and energy. Known for his quick wit and warm smile, Kai had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel welcomed and valued. His humor and kindness were the cornerstones of his personality, and his generosity touched the lives of many. Kai's laughter was a beacon of light, offering comfort and joy even in the darkest of times. In accordance with his wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Kai's life and legacy. As an Oregon donor, Kai's generosity continues to impact lives beyond his own, a true testament to his compassionate nature. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Queensland Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care during Kai's final days. Your dedication and kindness are forever etched in our hearts, and we honor you as we honor our beloved Kai.
