Justin R. Carlson Sr.

April 16, 1989 — June 7, 2026

April 16, 1989 – June 7, 2026 It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Justin R. Carlson Sr., who left this world peacefully on June 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 16, 1989, in the quaint town of Putnam, Connecticut, Justin was a man whose life was defined by love, laughter, and a deep connection to both his family and the land he worked upon. Justin was the cherished son of Richard Carlson Sr. and the late Debra J. (Appleby) Carlson, who passed on July 29, 2021. His mother was his whole world, and her memory remained a guiding light in his life. He is predeceased by his beloved maternal grandparents, Alfred and Winifred Carlson, whose values he carried forward in his own life. He is survived by his devoted father, Richard Carlson Sr., of East Killingly, CT, who was also his mentor and colleague in the landscaping business where Justin spent many dedicated years. Justin was a loving father to his pride and joy, his son, Justin Carlson Jr. Together with his mother, Chardonne, they formed a bond that was an endless source of happiness and pride. His siblings, brothers William Thomas of Foster, RI, Richard Carlson Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Thompson, CT, Andrew Carlson and his wife Danielle of Thompson, and sister Tammy Vallee of Florida, will forever cherish his memory. His legacy also lives on through his nieces and nephews: Jaylyn, Andrew Jr., Bailee, Bradley, Joshua, Serenity, and Derek, who all adored their Uncle Justin. Justin's passions were as varied as they were vibrant. He found joy and freedom in riding dirt bikes and shared many happy moments working on vehicles. His love for the outdoors was evident in his fishing trips, and his heart was always open to animals, especially Mazer the turtle and Yupper, his loyal pitbull. He was well-known in the local community for his skill and thrill in participating in and winning Demolition Derbys at the Thompson Speedway. Yet, above all, Justin was a devoted friend and a loving father, qualities that will be remembered by all who knew him. A service to honor Justin's life will be held on June 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the American Legion, Route 200, North Grosvenordale. Family, friends, and all whose lives Justin touched are warmly invited to celebrate the legacy of a truly remarkable man. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Justin's memory to the American Cancer Society at www.donate.cancer.org. Justin wished to be remembered as a loving father and son, and it is this enduring love that will be his lasting legacy. His spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him, and his warmth and kindness will continue to inspire all who remember him.
