June Maxine Raymond
January 2, 1944 — May 15, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of June Maxine Raymond, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. June departed this life peacefully at home on May 15, 2026, at the age of 82, surrounded by her loving family.
June was born on January 2, 1944, in El Dorado, Kansas, to Myrl W. Pitcher and Ruth E. Pitcher. She was the cherished sister to her late brother, John Pitcher. Raised in a family that valued kindness, compassion, and resilience, June carried these values throughout her life, touching everyone she met with her warmth and grace.
In the vibrant summer of 1965, June married the love of her life, Don Raymond, on July 11 in Wichita, Kansas. Together, they embarked on a journey that would span over six decades, characterized by unwavering love, steadfast partnership, and countless memories. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Julie and Christie, who were the light of their lives.
June's devotion to her family was unparalleled. She was a nurturing and supportive mother to Julie (married to Mitch Moffet) and Christie (married to Josh Matthew), instilling in them the same values of love and compassion she held dear. Her grandchildren, Ellie, Harlie, Malia, and Micah, were the apples of her eye, and she delighted in watching them grow, offering them her wisdom and affection at every step.
A woman of immense faith and community spirit, June was an active member of the Kailua United Methodist Church, where she contributed her time and talents generously. Her commitment to the church and its community was steadfast, a reflection of her deep-seated belief in service to others.
June was predeceased by her parents, her brother, and her dear grandson, Miles Matthew, whose memory she cherished profoundly. She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience, survived by her devoted husband, Don; her daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Mitch, Christie and Josh; and her beloved grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate June's remarkable life will be held on July 3, 2026, at 3:11 PM at the Kailua United Methodist Church, located at 110 Kailua Rd, Kailua, HI 96734. The family extends a special message of gratitude to all who have shared in their journey of love and loss. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the KUMC Foundation with a memo for the Miles Raymond Matthew Trust and mailed to the church. This fund, named in memory of her grandson, will continue to honor June's legacy of compassion and community service.
June Maxine Raymond was a beacon of love and warmth, whose legacy will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her gentle spirit and unwavering kindness will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever remain a guiding light in the hearts of her family and friends.
