October 5, 1952 — May 1, 2026

With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Julius Bernard Posley, who departed this world on May 1, 2026, at the age of 73. Julius's journey began in Niles, Michigan, where he was born on October 5, 1952, to his beloved parents, Jerry Posley and Laurel Woods. He was preceded in death by his cherished parents and his loving wife, Harriet Long, whose memories he held dearly in his heart. A proud graduate of Niles High School in 1969, Julius dedicated himself to a career with the City of Niles, Michigan, where he worked diligently for 37 years before retiring in 2006. His commitment to his community was as unwavering as his love for his family. Julius was a devoted member of Mt. Calvary Church, under the guidance of Pastor Bacon, where his faith and fellowship were integral parts of his life. His warm smile and loving heart were known to all, as was his delightful sense of humor, which often brought joy and laughter to those around him. Julius had an extraordinary gift for keeping his family connected, ensuring that bonds of love and unity were always strong. An adventurous spirit, Julius found joy in riding his motorcycle and casting a line while fishing. These pastimes were often shared with his best friend, Michael Woodson, and his adored grandchildren, whose presence brought him immense happiness and pride. Julius leaves behind a legacy of love in his surviving family members: his daughter Polly Posley of Mishawaka, Indiana; his son Jeremiah Posley of Kankakee, Illinois; his sister Janet Davis of Benton Harbor, Michigan; his brother Michael Posley; and his eight cherished grandchildren. His extended family includes many nieces, nephews, and his lifelong friend, Michael Woodson, who all held a special place in his heart. A celebration of Julius's life will be held on May 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Church, located at 760 Sixth Street, Niles, Michigan. As we gather to honor Julius, we invite you to remember his warmth, his laughter, and the love he shared with all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you keep Julius's memory alive by sharing stories and laughter, as he would have wanted. Let us cherish the joy he brought into our lives and strive to keep the bonds he so lovingly nurtured. Julius Bernard Posley will be dearly missed, but his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched. Rest in peace, dear Julius, as you join your beloved Harriet and parents in eternal rest.
