In Loving Memory

Juliette Ingrid Goddard
March 13, 1959 — August 10, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Juliette Goddard; talented, artist, friend, and family member, who left this world on August 10, 2026, in Líjar, Almería, Spain.
Born on March 13, 1959, in Tonbridge, Kent, England, Juliette was the treasured daughter of Peter and Agnes Goddard (née Fortune).
Juliette's journey through life was as colorful and vibrant as the art she so passionately created.
She spent her formative years attending Stockley Primary School in Dodoma, Tanzania, and later, St. Ann’s Heath Primary School in Virginia Water, Surrey. Her academic pursuits continued at Magna Carter Comprehensive School in Egham, Surrey.
Driven by a deep love for the arts, she pursued higher education at Middlesex University, where she earned a 2.1 BA degree in Fine Art. Her thirst for knowledge and creativity led her to achieve an MA at the Royal College of Art in London, specializing in Fine Art and Print. During her time there, she was honored with a prestigious Minister of Culture Certificate in 1983 while participating in a student exchange program at L'Ecole des Arts Decorative in Paris.
Juliette's artistic contributions were not only recognized through awards but also through the lively and supportive presence she maintained in Crawley’s art community and her many years teaching and supporting those with learning disabilities and Autism at Dimensions, Crawley.
A member of the RCA Society, she is remembered for her vibrant personality, and genuine friendliness.
Juliette enriched every gathering with her knowledge of Printmaking and Art, always making time for a conversation with friends and strangers alike.
She leaves behind the many members of her extended family in and from the West Indies who always saw her as a valuable source of keeping them up to date with the rest of us in the UK and beyond.
They, in particular, will miss the hospitality and thoughtfulness Juliette extended to them on their visits to England.
Juliette’s enthusiastic support and involvement in Crawley’s Black History Month each year will also always be remembered and cherished.
Her art remains a testament to her enduring spirit, leaving behind a legacy that will never fade away, and she leaves behind many devastated close friends and colleagues in Crawley, plus students who realised their artistic potential and dreams thanks to her invaluable guidance and support.
Though Juliette's life was tragically cut short, she is forever remembered by her surviving family: her half-sister Trisha and her children, Billie and Madi, as well as her sister Paula and her children, Fabian and Blaine.
She was predeceased by her youngest sister Linda and her beloved parents, Peter and Agnes.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has reached out with condolences and shared their memories of Juliette. They acknowledge the complex emotions that relationships can hold and appreciate the many facets of Juliette's life that she shared with others.
A service to celebrate Juliette's life will be held on October 17, 2026, at 13:30 at St John's Crawley, Church Walk, Crawley RH10 1HH, UK.
For those unable to attend in person, the service will be available via livestream via this link: https://youtube.com/@stjohnscrawley?si=QIMhsuC6M_ort-sP
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Creative Crawley, a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, in honor of Juliette’s dedication to the arts and her community.
