Julie Harris-Underwood
August 7, 1960 — March 9, 2026
It is with heavy but grateful hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Julie Harris-Underwood on March 9, 2026. Julie's journey came to an end in the comforting embrace of hospice care, surrounded by the love of her family. Her departure marks the conclusion of a courageous battle against a long illness, one she faced with grace and resilience.
Born on August 7, 1960, in the vibrant city of Denver, Colorado, Julie was the cherished daughter of Quintin "Ike" Harris and Carma Hansen-Harris. They instilled in her a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures and a steadfast commitment to family, values she carried throughout her life. Julie was predeceased by her dear parents, as well as her sister, Kyra Harris, whom she held close to her heart.
Julie leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth through her surviving family: her devoted son, Colin Schneider, and her loving daughter, Brittany Littleton. Her nurturing spirit lives on in her precious grandchildren, Robbie and Bella Littleton, who were the twinkle in her eye and the source of immense joy. Julie's bond with her sisters, Lorna Smith and DeAnn Harris, was unbreakable, as they shared countless memories and supported each other through life's journey.
Julie was not only a dedicated mother, sister, and grandmother but also a beacon of kindness and compassion to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her innate ability to listen and understand others made her a cherished confidante and friend. Julie’s infectious smile and gentle laughter could light up any room, and her generosity knew no bounds.
An educator by profession and passion, Julie inspired countless young minds as a teacher for over three decades. Her dedication to nurturing her students' potential left an indelible mark on their lives, and her commitment to education extended beyond the classroom, influencing the community at large.
Julie loved the outdoors and found solace in nature's embrace, often seeking refuge in the mountains she called home. Her adventurous spirit led her to explore the world, yet she always returned to the familiar warmth of Denver. Her creative soul found expression in her love for painting, a hobby that allowed her to capture the beauty she saw in the world.
As we celebrate Julie's life, we remember her not with sadness, but with gratitude for the countless ways she enriched our lives. Her legacy will forever echo in the laughter of her grandchildren, the wisdom of her children, and the hearts of all who knew her.
A memorial service to honor Julie's life will be held at a later date, where friends and family will gather to share stories and celebrate the remarkable woman she was. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice, in remembrance of Julie's generous spirit and her commitment to making the world a better place.
Julie Harris-Underwood's life was a testament to love, resilience, and the enduring power of family. Though she has left this world, her spirit remains forever imprinted on the hearts of those who knew her. She will be dearly missed, but her memory will continue to inspire us all.
