Julia Anna Baker, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in the hospital on September 2, 2026, surrounded by her cherished family. Born on November 25, 1931, in Roanoke, Virginia, to Mr. and Mrs. Ralph B. Williams, Julia lived a life full of love, kindness, and unwavering strength. Julia was married to the love of her life, Richard E. Baker, on November 14, 1952. Together, they built a beautiful family and cherished 48 years of marriage until Richard's passing. Julia was predeceased by her husband, Richard, her son Michael D. Baker, her daughters Linda J. Homeyer and Julie A. Brady, her parents Ralph and Anna Grace Williams, and her brothers RB Williams and Robert Williams. She is survived by her daughter Donna L. Greaves and her son, whose presence brought immense joy to her life. Her legacy continues through her 8 grandchildren, Caroline McGahan, Michelle Colwell, Dawn M. Greene (Eric), Matthew Homeyer, Cora Holley (Derrick), James Homeyer, Jaqueline Homeyer, and Zachary Franker, as well as her 11 great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Julia also leaves behind her brother, Donald L. Williams, and his wife Rose, along with several nieces and nephews. Julia worked diligently throughout her career, holding various positions as a bookkeeper before retiring after 20 dedicated years at King Industries. Her work was not only a testament to her meticulous nature but also her commitment to excellence and perseverance. Julia's favorite pastime was working on her embroidery machine, where she created countless treasures for her family members. Her creations were more than just fabric and thread; they were woven with love and care, becoming cherished keepsakes for those she held dear. A pillar of strength within her family, Julia was known for her nurturing spirit and open heart. She was the person everyone turned to in times of need, whether to seek advice, share a problem, or celebrate good news. Her warmth and wisdom left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of choice, a reflection of Julia's generous spirit and her lifelong commitment to helping others.
