Juila Ann Todd

Julia Ann Todd, born on January 11, 1959, at the Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas, peacefully departed this life on July 23, 2026, at St. Bernard's Five Rivers in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Her life was a testament to kindness, faith, and family, and she left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. A devoted daughter to James Monroe and Saundra Jean Wenzel Powell, Julia was predeceased by her beloved father James, mother Saundra, sister, Juella Ellis, biological dad Charles Davenport. Their memories filled her heart with warmth and guided her throughout her life. Julia is survived by her loving children: her son, Jimmy Todd, and his wife, Becky, of Forrest City, AR; her daughters, Ashley Wimsatt and her husband, Jeremy, of Ashland City, TN, and Cynthia Carter and her wife, Mary Jane, of Lexington, TN. She was the adored grandmother to five wonderful grandchildren—Savannah Thompson, David Wimsatt, Carly Todd, Vivienne Wimsatt, and Natalie Todd—each of whom brought her immense joy and pride. On September 3, 1977, Julia married David R. Todd, and together they built a family filled with love and laughter, though their paths diverged in 2009. Throughout her life, Julia embraced her role as a stay-at-home mom, dedicating her time and love to raising her children with unwavering support and affection. A graduate of Nathan Bedford Forrest Academy's Class of 1977, Julia was a lifelong learner whose curiosity extended beyond the classroom. She was a member of Strawfloor Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Arkansas, for many years before finding fellowship at Temple Baptist Church, where her faith continued to flourish. An avid reader and skilled painter, Julia also enjoyed sewing, shopping, and, most importantly, spending quality time with her family and friends. Julia was known for her infectious smile and compassionate spirit. Her kind heart was evident in her selfless acts, such as quietly assisting those in need with their bills, without seeking recognition. Her love for the Bible and her devotion to God were central to her life, and she was always eager to engage in conversations about faith with anyone willing to listen. In honoring Julia's life, her family will hold a private funeral ceremony. For those who wish to commemorate her memory, donations may be made in her name to a charity of your choice.
