Judy Mae Green, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. Born on November 10, 1941, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Judy's life was a testament to joy, compassion, and resilience.
Judy was the beloved daughter of Ednes Mona Stegner and Elmer Schultz, both of whom predeceased her. She was a proud graduate of Cheyenne Central High School and furthered her education at the University of Northern Colorado. Judy's career began as a telephone operator, a role she embraced for several years before joining the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). There, she exhibited remarkable adaptability and dedication, transitioning from the cord board to telecom operations as technology evolved. Her tenure at NCAR spanned an impressive 48 years, a testament to her commitment and passion for her work.
Beyond her professional achievements, Judy was a woman who radiated warmth and positivity. Her infectious smile and attentive ear made her a cherished confidante to many. Judy's compassion and zest for life were recognized by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She found immense joy in traveling and cherished every moment spent with her family. Her legacy lives on through her daughters, Kelly Delany (Chris) and Belinda Green, and her daughter-in-law, Kelly Green. Judy was also a proud grandmother to six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and fulfillment.
A celebration of Judy's life will be held on August 21, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the National Center for Atmospheric Research, located at 1850 Table Mesa Drive, Boulder, CO. This gathering will be an opportunity for family and friends to come together, share memories, and honor a life beautifully lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Judy's memory to The Humane Society of Boulder Valley, Inc., an organization close to her heart.
