Judy Ingoldsby

August 30, 1939 — May 15, 2026

Judy Ingoldsby, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Born on August 30, 1939, in Fresno, California, Judy was the beloved daughter of Robert and Esther Prentice, who welcomed her into a world she would enrich with her warmth, generosity, and laughter. Judy's journey through life was marked by her steadfast dedication to education and her unwavering commitment to her family. A proud graduate of Roosevelt High School in 1957 and Fresno State in 1961, where she was a spirited member of Kappa Alpha Theta, Judy embarked on a career that would see her nurture and inspire countless young minds. Her passion for teaching, combined with her innate ability to find humor in every situation, made her a beloved figure in the educational community. On July 14, 1962, Judy married the love of her life, Larry Ingoldsby, in her hometown of Fresno. Their marriage, a testament to enduring love and partnership, spanned 63 remarkable years. Together, they raised two devoted daughters, Erin and Tracy, who, along with son-in-law Steve Ford, blessed Judy with five adoring grandchildren: Taylor (Phoebe), Lauren (Benny), Kate (Andrew), Danielle, and Allison. Her legacy of love continues through her two great-grandsons, James and Harrison, who brought her endless joy. Judy's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and learning. Her outgoing nature and supportive spirit touched everyone she met. A member of Millbrook Presbyterian Church, Judy found solace and strength in her faith, which she shared with her community until she entered assisted living. Outside of her professional and spiritual pursuits, Judy's heart was in her garden, where she found peace and beauty in tending to her plants. She had a special fondness for travel, particularly to Great Britain and the coastal town of Cayucos, and she never met a cat she didn't love. These hobbies brought her joy and allowed her to share precious moments with those she held dear. Judy was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Esther, whose love and guidance shaped her into the wonderful woman she became. She leaves behind a family that will carry forward her legacy of kindness, humor, and love. In honor of Judy’s life and her dedication to helping others, the family kindly asks that donations be made to First Presbyterian Church, a place where Judy's faith and compassion found a home. While we mourn the loss of Judy Ingoldsby, we celebrate the indelible mark she left on our hearts. Her life was a testament to the power of love, and her memory will forever inspire all who knew her to live with the same grace, humor, and generosity that she shared with the world. Rest in peace, dear Judy. Your light will shine in our hearts forever.
