It is with heavy hearts and profound admiration that we announce the peaceful passing of Judy Bowen Davis, who left this world on May 16, 2026, at the age of 68, after a valiant battle with cancer. Judy passed away surrounded by the love and comfort of her family at the Life Care Hospice Center. Born on November 26, 1957, in the charming town of Wilmington, North Carolina, Judy was the beloved daughter of Paulene Spicer Jones and Lorenzo Bowen. Her parents instilled in her the values of kindness and resilience, attributes that defined her throughout her life. Judy's journey through life was accompanied by her siblings, and she is predeceased by her sisters, Wakeela and Loraine Bowen, and her brother, George Bowen. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, George Edward Davis, whose memory she cherished deeply. Judy graduated from Hoggard High School in 1975, bringing with her a lifelong passion for learning. She pursued further education at Trotmans Beauty School, where she honed her skills and developed a love for hairstyling. This passion became a lifelong hobby that brought joy to both Judy and those she cared for. Additionally, she graduated from Miller Monte Business College, further broadening her horizons and setting the stage for her future endeavors. Judy found fulfillment and purpose in her career at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center, where her dedication and compassion left an indelible mark on her colleagues and patients alike. Her warm smile and gentle demeanor provided comfort to those in their time of need. Family was the cornerstone of Judy's life. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving family members: her son, Jamard Bowen, and his wife, Jessica; her daughters, Tami Tillery, and Candice Robison, along with her husband Raphael. She is also survived by her sisters, Patricia Bowen and Alice Schantz, who, along with her brother Reginald Bowen, will forever cherish the memories they shared with her. Judy's pride and joy were her 12 grandchildren, whose lives she touched with her unwavering love and boundless wisdom. Judy's gracious spirit and generous heart will be celebrated in a service held on May 23, 2026, at 3:30 PM at Shaw Funeral Home, located on Red Cross Street. Friends and family are welcome to join in honoring a life well-lived, a life that touched so many in profound and meaningful ways. As we bid farewell to Judy, we remember her as a beacon of love and strength, a woman who lived with grace and left an everlasting imprint on the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.
