Judith Kay Hudgens
January 23, 1947 — March 31, 2026
Judith Kay Hudgens, gained her angel wings on March 31, 2026, surrounded by the love and presence of her cherished family and friends. Born on January 23, 1947, in Dermott, Arkansas, Judith embodied grace, kindness, and unwavering devotion throughout her 79 years.
Judy was the loving daughter of the late W.K. Roberts and Georgie Lee Barrett Roberts. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Kenneth Roberts, and sisters Patricia Ann Roberts, Lillian Roberts, and Wanda Epperson.
A devoted mother, she leaves behind her daughter, Missy (Robbie) Newcomb, and son, Bill Fortenberry. Her legacy of love continues through her cherished granddaughters, Danielle Hudgens and Ashley (Slayton)Taylor, great-grandson Slayde Taylor as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever hold her memory close. Her home was always filled with love, laughter, and the pitter-patter of her adored fur babies—Sammy, Peanut, Tyra, and Sister Sue.
Judy’s life was a testament to dedication and service. A proud graduate of Mabelvale High School in 1965, she embarked on a fulfilling career in customer service at AP&L, where she made lasting contributions and friendships over 25 years before retiring in 1992. After retiring she opened an in-home daycare and later a gift shop.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for many years. It was here, amid the community she cherished, that she found spiritual nourishment and a sense of belonging.
Judy found joy in working outside in the yard, swimming in her pool, bowling and cooking for her family.
A service honoring Judy’s life will be held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, located at 136 Standpipe Road, Hot Springs, AR. This celebration of her life is a testament to the love and joy she spread throughout her years.
In remembering Judy, we celebrate a life rich in love, laughter, and lasting impact. Her spirit will continue to touch the lives of all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched. As we say goodbye, we hold her memory in our hearts, grateful for the time we shared and the love that will endure forever.
