Judith "Judy" Ann Perkins

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Judith "Judy" Ann Perkins, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed from this world on May 14, 2026, at the age of 71. Judy, as she was affectionately known, passed away peacefully in her sleep, ending a courageous battle with terminal pulmonary fibrosis. She was born on August 5, 1954, in the charming city of Biloxi, Mississippi, to the late Edward and Priscilliana Ziarko. Judy's life was a testament to love, resilience, and devotion. She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Roy R. Perkins; her dear grandson, Dantae Scott; and many beloved pets, who brought her endless joy and comfort. She is survived by her devoted children: son George B. Perkins and his wife Courtney; daughters Jennifer Mahoney and Holly Mays and her husband Brian. Judy's legacy continues through her eight treasured grandchildren: Danaeja Davis, Kayla Turner, Brian Turner, Davion Davis, Landon Perkins, Karson Perkins, and Jackson Mays. Growing up in a close-knit family, Judy carried the values instilled by her parents throughout her life, creating a warm and loving home wherever she went. She shared a beautiful marriage with Roy R. Perkins, with whom she welcomed twins George and Holly, while also embracing her role as a dedicated stepmother to Jenny, Judy’s daughter from her previous marriage to Robert in 1972. A proud alumna of Ruskin High School, Judy's professional journey began at the tender age of 20 with the Federal Government. Her career spanned several decades, during which she served with distinction at agencies such as the Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, and Lake City Army Ammunition Facility. Judy's commitment to her work took her across the nation, attending seminars and training courses, with Alaska holding a special place in her heart. Judy's life was one of vibrant interests and heartfelt passions. She was an avid collector of Precious Moments figurines and found immense joy in the beauty of flowers, especially those in shades of her favorite color, purple. Her home was adorned with photographs of her grandchildren, each frame a testament to her unwavering love. Judy was a devoted fan of Royals baseball, with a particular fondness for Salvy, and a spirited supporter of Chiefs football, cheering on Travis Kelce with enthusiasm. Her intellectual curiosity, creativity, and empathetic nature made Judy a cherished confidante and advisor to many. She was a smart and caring woman who listened earnestly and offered wise counsel, making her a pillar of support for all who knew her. A celebration of Judy's life will be held on May 20, 2026, at Park Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Wayside Waifs, an organization close to Judy's heart, at www.waysidewaifs.org. The Perkins family extends their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff members at St. Mary's/Ignite for the loving care and comfort they provided to Judy during her final months. Judy's warmth, wisdom, and love will forever remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know her. As we bid farewell to a remarkable woman, we take solace in the indelible mark she left on our lives and the countless memories we will cherish forever.
