Judith Elaine Myer
October 28, 1945 — February 28, 2026
With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Judith Elaine Myer, who departed this world peacefully on February 28, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on October 28, 1945, in Lawrence, Kansas, Judith's journey was filled with love, laughter, and a dedication to family and faith that touched all who knew her.
The beloved daughter of Fred and Mayme Coffman, Judith was born into a family that cherished togetherness and joy. She carried these values throughout her life, always placing family at the center of her world. Preceding her in death were her devoted husband, Dale Myer, her parents, and her sister, JoAnn Elliott, all of whom she has now rejoined in eternal peace.
Judith found lifelong love and companionship with Dale E. Myer, marrying him on September 21, 1967. Together, they built a life grounded in love and mutual respect, raising their cherished son, Jeffrey Dale Myer, who survives her and carries forward her legacy of kindness and warmth.
A proud graduate of Lawrence High School in 1963, Judith embarked on a meaningful career at KU Printing Service, where she worked diligently for 26 years until her retirement in 2005. Her colleagues remember her not only for her professionalism but for her infectious laughter and warmth that brightened the workplace.
Judith was a devoted member of the Family of Faith Church in Eudora, Kansas, where she found both spiritual nourishment and a community that became an extended family. Her faith and commitment to her church were steadfast, and she participated actively in church activities, always ready to lend a hand or share a smile.
Cooking, baking, and crafting were among Judith's passions, and she delighted in sharing her creations with family and friends. Known affectionately as the "fun aunt," she brought joy to family gatherings, her laughter a soundtrack to countless cherished memories. Her fondness for watching and shopping on QVC was well-known, and she took great pleasure in finding the perfect gifts for loved ones.
Judith's vibrant spirit and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on all who met her. Her laughter was contagious, and her warm embrace made everyone feel welcome and loved. In honoring her life, let us remember the joy she spread and the love she shared so generously.
A service to celebrate Judith's life will be held on March 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Rumsey Funeral Home, located at 601 Indiana Street, Lawrence, Kansas. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and gratitude for the beautiful life she led.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Elara Caring, an organization that reflects Judith's spirit of compassion and care.
Judith Elaine Myer will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, laughter, and faith will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
