In Loving Memory of Judith Boterenbrood
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Judith Boterenbrood on July 21, 2026, at Allendale Nursing Home. Born on January 3, 1939, to Albert and Corrine VanKeulen, Judith graced this world with a kind and tender spirit for 87 beautiful years. She was predeceased by her dear parents and beloved sister, Litha.
Judith was the cherished wife of Bernard Boterenbrood, with whom she shared a remarkable 65-year marriage filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Together, they built a loving family that includes their three children, Arnold (Jane) Boterenbrood, Marjan (Alvin) DeLyons, and Peter (Jill) Boterenbrood. Judith's legacy continues through her six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who will carry her memory in their hearts always.
Educated in the Netherlands, Judith graduated from an esteemed all-girls school, which laid the foundation for her lifelong dedication to learning and personal growth. Upon moving to the United States, Judith became an integral member of the 2nd Reformed Church, where she devoted 65 years to serving her community in various capacities. Whether working in the church kitchen, tending to the nursery, or knitting prayer shawls and warm winter mittens for children, Judith's selfless acts of kindness touched many lives.
Judith's love for her flower garden was a testament to her nurturing spirit and the beauty she brought into the world. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, where her infectious smile could light up a room and her intuitive nature often allowed her to sense and mend the troubles of those she loved.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Allendale Nursing Home and Faith Hospice for the tender care and support they provided Judith in her final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice, a fitting tribute to a woman who gave so much to others throughout her life.
Judith's legacy of love, dedication, and selflessness will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
