Judith Avinger

Judith Avinger, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that touched everyone fortunate enough to have known her. Born on September 25, 1961, in the historic city of Charleston, South Carolina, Judith was the cherished daughter of the late Edward and Shirley Avinger. Her parents instilled in her the values of compassion and generosity that she carried throughout her life. Judith was a proud graduate of Middleton High School, Class of 1981. Her passion for helping others led her to a fulfilling career as an EEG technician at Roper St. Francis Hospital, where she dedicated many years of service before retiring in 2026. A devoted member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Judith's faith was central to her life. Through her active participation, she fostered a sense of community, sharing her time and talents with others in need. Judith was blessed with a loving family that brought her immense joy. She is survived by her sons, Eric Clark and William Clark, who were the pride of her life. Her partner, Scott Jolly, stood by her side as a constant source of love and strength. Judith shared a special bond with her sister, Angie Avinger, and her brother, Randy Avinger, and sister-in-law, Onalee Avinger. Her granddaughters, Charlotte and Zoe Clark, were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent baking, swimming, and exploring the parks with them. Known for her incredible ability to make everyone feel included and appreciated, Judith was a beacon of love and happiness in her community. Her joyful spirit and the genuine interest she showed in the lives of others left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Judith will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Her memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew her.
