In Loving Memory

Judith Anne Grimsley
September 12, 1940 — August 31, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Judith Anne Grimsley on August 31, 2026. Judith was born on September 12, 1940, in St. Paul, Minnesota, and was the beloved daughter of the late Robert and Lucille O'Bryan. She was preceded in death by her cherished siblings, Robert "Butch" O'Bryan, Elaine Blake, and Marjory Henderson.
Judith's life was a tapestry of love, family, and faith. In 1960, she married Charles Allen, the devoted father of her three children. Their union was a testament to love and partnership until Charles' untimely passing in September 1979. Judith later found companionship and shared her life with Darrel Sexton and J.R. Grimsley, both of whom have also preceded her in death.
A dedicated mother and grandmother, Judith leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Marta and Rick Myers of Amory, Robert and Julie Allen of Amarillo, Texas, and Matthew Allen of Amarillo, Texas. Her grandchildren, Justin and Kimberly Myers of Amory, Rickey and Brook Myers of Oklahoma City, Jarred Allen Myers of Oklahoma City, Zach and Noah Allen of Oklahoma City, Robyn and Faith Allen of Oklahoma City, Calvin Allen of Amarillo, Texas, and Ember Allen of Amarillo, Texas, will forever cherish her memory, along with several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Judith was a woman of intelligence and ambition, graduating from high school in 1959 and later earning an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Development. She devoted her professional life to working in retail and childcare before enjoying a well-deserved retirement.
Her faith was a cornerstone in her life. Judith was an active member of the House of Prayer Tabernacle in Mattoon, Illinois, and, in recent years, she found a spiritual home at Living Waters Assembly of God in Gattman, Mississippi. Her faith community provided her with strength and support, and she, in return, offered her kindness and wisdom.
Judith's passions included reading and studying the Bible, painting, drawing, and crocheting. These hobbies brought her joy and allowed her to express her creativity and devotion.
A service to celebrate Judith's life will be held on September 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Living Waters Assembly of God, located at the corner of HWY 278 & Wolfe Road, Gattman, MS 38844.
The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice in Judith's memory, honoring her generous spirit and love for others.
Judith Anne Grimsley was a beacon of love and strength, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
