February 23, 1943 — September 27, 2026

Judith Ann Kruskamp, a beloved wife, mother, Nana Honey, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 27, 2026, after a five-year journey with vascular dementia. Born on February 23, 1943, in Toledo, Ohio, Judy was the cherished daughter of William and Rita Kruskamp, both of whom predeceased her. Judy's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Her journey began in Toledo and led her to the University of Dayton, where she met her first husband and began her most cherished role as a stay-at-home mom to her children, Kelly and Mike. Her dedication to family continued throughout her life, even as she entered the workforce and built a career marked by hard work and determination. She found joy working at a Montessori school and later spent 20 years as the personnel manager at BJ’s Wholesale Club in Cutler Bay, Florida, where she became a familiar and beloved face before retiring after a long and dedicated career. Years later, Judy reunited with her high school sweetheart, Pat Ross, and together they shared many joyful years in Cutler Bay, Florida. Their adventures took them to their favorite local restaurants and on trips to the Florida Keys, where Judy delighted in browsing shops especially the Rainbarrel. Eventually, after retirement they returned to Kettering, Ohio, where they could be closer to family and lifelong friends. Judy's love for her family was unwavering. She is survived by her loving husband, Pat Ross; her devoted children, Kelly O’Hora and Michael O’Hora (Julie); her cherished grandchildren, Madison Laiz (Andrew) and Delaney O’Hora; her stepson, Zach Ross (Jen); her adored step-grandchildren, Maddy and Jasper Boespflug; her beloved sisters, Tina Kruskamp, Linda Kruskamp Blake, and Nina Huart (Nick); and her dear niece, Clair. Judy had a special bond with animals, particularly dogs, who were always a part of her household. Her love for animals was evident in the joy she brought to her children through their family pets and the cherished dogs she shared with Pat throughout her life. Judy's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. She adored sunbathing, reading, shopping, and did we mention shopping, particularly during the holiday season. Her knack for selecting the perfect gift earned her the affectionate nickname "Nana Claus" from her grandchildren. Her love for music and movies was infectious, and she had a particular fondness for concerts, especially those featuring artists like Josh Groban and Toby Keith. Despite the challenges of vascular dementia, Judy's spirit remained light and joyful. Her green eyes, wonderful laugh, and impeccable style are remembered fondly by all who knew her. Her pride in her family, especially her son Mike's service in the United States Marine Corps, was unwavering, and her strength and resilience were exemplified when Hurricane Andrew left their home devastated, yet Mike's Marine Corps photograph remained, a symbol of enduring strength and faith. Judy's family will honor her memory with a service on November 12, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Tobias Funeral Home, located at 5471 Far Hills Avenue, Dayton, OH, 45429. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to donate to a humane society of your choice or a charity of your choice, reflecting Judy's generous heart and her lifelong commitment to making the world a better place for those she loved.
