With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of our beloved Juanita L. Bernal, who departed this world peacefully on June 7, 2026, at the age of 76. Surrounded by her family in the warmth of her home, Juanita's final moments were a testament to the love she nurtured throughout her remarkable life.
Born on November 4, 1949, in Lubbock, Texas, to Pete and Sarah Lovato, Juanita was the embodiment of strength, resilience, and compassion. She was predeceased by her loving parents, five brothers, one sister, and her cherished grandson, Xavier. Yet, her legacy continues to thrive through her surviving family: her children Vincent Lovato, Michelle Bernal, Monica (Preston) Bernal, Melinda Bernal, Jose Bernal, Isaac (Kristian) Lovato, and Angelica Lovato, along with her 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who were the joys of her life.
In 1971, Juanita married the love of her life, Rudy G. Bernal. Though their time together was tragically short, lasting only six years until Rudy's passing in 1977, their union was blessed with a beautiful family that continued to grow and blossom under Juanita's devoted care.
Juanita's commitment to her family was matched by her dedication to her work at McKay Dee Hospital, where she served as a housekeeper. Her career spanned several decades until her retirement in 2013, marked by a steadfast work ethic and an infectious personality that endeared her to colleagues and patients alike.
A graduate of Lubbock High School, Juanita carried the lessons learned in her early years throughout her life, imparting wisdom and kindness to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and laughter, where she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.
Juanita will be remembered for her vibrant personality, a beacon of joy and love in the lives she touched. Her legacy is one of unwavering strength, boundless love, and a spirit that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A celebration of Juanita's life will take place on June 13, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Myers Mortuary, located at 845 Washington Blvd, Ogden, Utah 84404. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Juanita are invited to join in honoring her memory.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Juanita L. Bernal Memorial Fund, ensuring her legacy of love and care continues to flourish.
Though our hearts are heavy with the loss of Juanita, we find solace in the countless memories and the enduring love she shared with us all. May she rest in peace, forever cherished in our hearts.
