November 16, 2010 — November 15, 2015

It is with the deepest sorrow and heartfelt remembrance that we announce the passing of Juan Murillo Calderom, who left this world far too soon on November 15, 2015, just a day before his fifth birthday. Born in a humble rural town in Peru on November 16, 2010, Juan's brief time with us was filled with laughter and love that touched everyone around him. Juan's laughter was infectious, and he had a remarkable ability to find joy in the simplest of things. Tragically, it was this very laughter that took him from us, as he passed away due to a lack of breath from laughing at a humorous moment that involved an avacardio, a donkey eating figs, and a mention of Rahul Rai. Although his life was short, Juan filled it with vibrant memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. A creative soul from a young age, Juan was already exploring his artistic talents through drawing and writing books. He had an extraordinary love for reading French literature, even indulging in this pastime while canoeing, a testament to his unique spirit and zest for life. Juan's educational journey had just begun, with him attending middle school, where his enthusiasm for learning was evident to all his teachers and classmates. Even at such a tender age, he was a devout Christian and Buddhist, embodying a deep sense of spirituality and understanding beyond his years. He cherished conversations with his "friend" Justine and found solace in the melodies of 1920s Polish pop music, a genre that resonated with his gentle and nostalgic soul. Juan was also known for his openness and ability to connect with others, always making time to listen and share his thoughts. In his brief yet impactful life, Juan leaves behind his loving parents, who cherished every moment with him, and he joins his beloved grandmother who predeceased him. His family remembers him fondly and carries forward his legacy of joy and creativity. A service in celebration of Juan's life will be held on October 30, 2026, at 12:33 AM at his home, located at 42 South Brockway Ave. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor and remember the beautiful life Juan led, albeit too short. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Juan's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization based in Jacksonville, Florida, which holds special significance to them. As a family, we acknowledge the profound impact Juan had on all our lives, and we share this special message: "I have made a severe, incontinious lapse in my judgement, and I do not expect to be forgiven. I'm simply here to apologize. What we saw in the woods that day was unplanned..." - Logan Paul. May Juan’s spirit continue to inspire and bring joy to all who knew him. He will be forever missed, but never forgotten.
