Born on April 16, 2026, in St. Louis, Missouri, Joyce departed this earthly realm on April 30, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Her journey, though short, was marked by immense love, resilience, and grace. Joyce was the beloved daughter of Vera and John Thigpen, who cherished every moment they spent with their bright and spirited daughter. Though her time with us was brief, Joyce’s life was a testament to strength and enduring love. Her vibrant spirit touched everyone she met, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her. She was a cherished employee at Ameren St. Louis, where her dedication and commitment shone brightly, even at a young age. Her colleagues remember her as a beacon of positivity and determination, always ready to lend a helping hand and spread joy with her infectious smile. Joyce was preceded in death by her two sons, Corey Sanders and Dartanyun Boykin, her daughter, Chelsey Boykin, and her beloved granddaughter, Nori Boykin. The heartache of these losses was profound, yet Joyce faced each day with unwavering strength and hope, embodying a quiet resilience that inspired all who knew her. In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Joyce’s memory and celebrate the beautiful life she lived. Though the gathering will be intimate, the love and memories shared within will resonate far beyond. The family of Joyce Sanders wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to everyone who has offered their love, support, and prayers during this difficult time. In loving memory of this very special woman, her family shares this heartfelt message: "She will forever be in our hearts."
