In Loving Memory

Joyce Morgan Carr
September 8, 1943 — April 29, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the peaceful passing of Joyce Morgan Carr on April 29, 2026. Joyce was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world surrounded by love and the warmth of her cherished family. She was 82 years old.
Born on September 8, 1943, in the charming town of Alexandria, Virginia, Joyce was the treasured daughter of Raymond and Dorothy Morgan. She grew up in a home filled with love and laughter, learning early in life the values of kindness, generosity, and resilience—principles she carried with her throughout her journey.
Joyce married the love of her life, Donald (Gene) Carr, with whom she shared an extraordinary 66 years of marriage. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and unwavering devotion, a partnership that inspired everyone who knew them. Together, they built a beautiful family, nurturing an environment of unconditional love and support.
Joyce's legacy continues through her surviving family members, including her devoted husband Gene; her loving children Tod Carr and Jenna Arnold; her daughter-in-law Courtney and son-in-law Lee; and her adoring grandchildren, Samuel Carr and Alexandra Clark. She was also blessed with a grandson-in-law, Ross Clark, who became a cherished part of the family tapestry.
Her family was her pride and joy, and she relished every moment spent in their company. Her grandchildren, Samuel and Alexandra, were the apples of her eye, and she delighted in watching them grow and flourish.
Though Joyce was predeceased by her parents, Raymond Morgan and Dorothy Tanner, their memory lived on in her stories and the wisdom she imparted to her own family. Joyce's life was a testament to strength and grace, and her spirit will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved her.
A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Joyce’s life and legacy, allowing her family the space to remember and celebrate her in a manner befitting the extraordinary woman she was. Though the ceremony is private, the family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have reached out with love and support during this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Joyce’s memory. This gesture will continue her legacy of compassion and generosity, reflecting the beautiful spirit she shared with the world.
Rest in peace, dear Joyce. Your warmth, kindness, and unwavering love have left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know you. You will be deeply missed, but your spirit will live on in the cherished memories of your family and friends.
