Joyce Lorraine Patton

Joyce Lorraine Patton, a cherished matriarch and beloved friend to many, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on October 19, 1932, in Houston, Texas, Joyce was the daughter of Fred and Margaret Curry, who instilled in her values of kindness, resilience, and community spirit. Joyce was predeceased by her only brother, Fred Curry, Jr., who she deeply loved. Joyce shared a beautiful life with her late husband, Robert Irl Patton, whose memory she cherished deeply. Together, they built a family rooted in love, laughter, and mutual respect. Joyce is survived by her devoted children: daughter Debbie Mims and her husband Kerry, son Tom Patton and his wife Mary, and daughter Donna Patton. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Chris Patton and his wife Josie, Haley Elliston and her husband Brooks, Cara Armes and her husband Mark. and Jenny Moore and her husband Ian. Joyce's heart was further enriched by her great-grandchildren, Job, Silas, Geneva, and Andy Patton; Mallory, Conrad, and Warren Elliston, Waylon and Tommy Armes and Robbie and Maggie Moore, who brought her immense joy and pride. Joyce's family was the heart of her world, and she took immense joy in their achievements and happiness. Her warmth and generosity extended beyond her family, as she was a devoted friend and confidant to many. Her home was a sanctuary where laughter was shared, and everyone felt welcome. A woman of grace and strength, Joyce's presence was a source of comfort and wisdom to all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of love, and her spirit will forever be a guiding light for her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Joyce favorite charities (St. Judes Children's Hospital or Tunnel to Towers Foundation) or a charity of your choice in Joyce's honor, reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others. Joyce Lorraine Patton will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her legacy will continue to inspire and uplift those she leaves behind. As a woman of tremendous faith, we are comforted knowing she is in the loving arms of Jesus. Her life was a beautiful example of love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to family. A celebration of Joyce's life will be held on Saturday, November 7th, 2026 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Anglican Church located at 14007 South Freeway (Hwy 288 service road) Houston, Texas 77047. There will be a memorial service at 10:30 am followed by a luncheon in the Parish Hall.
