Joyce L. Idoria

September 19, 1958 — June 1, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce L. Idoria, a cherished soul, who peacefully left this world on June 1, 2026, surrounded by the loving embrace of her family in her final moments. Joyce’s journey on earth began on September 19, 1958, in the warm community of Warren, Ohio, and she bravely battled cancer with grace and courage until the end. Joyce was a beloved daughter of the late Charles and Novella Turner, who instilled in her the values of kindness, resilience, and compassion that she carried throughout her life. She pursued her education at Eastern Nazarene College, where she cultivated her passion for learning and formed friendships that lasted a lifetime. Her career was marked by dedication and heart. Joyce spent many years working at the Christmas Tree Shop, where her colleagues and customers adored her warm smile and infectious laughter. Later, she found her true calling as a hospice caregiver, providing comfort and dignity to those in their final days. Her work touched countless lives and was a testament to her boundless empathy and love for humanity. Joyce found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially in her garden, where she nurtured vibrant blooms and found peace in nature's beauty. Her greatest happiness, however, came from spending time with her family, who were the light of her life. She had a rare gift for making everyone feel valued and as if they were a part of her family, a testament to her generous spirit and open heart. She leaves behind her devoted partner, Ricky Cotell, who stood by her side through every trial and triumph. Joyce was the proud and loving mother of her son, Brandon Turner Idoria, and her son Jonathan Idoria, who, along with his fiancé Lauren Connolly, brought her endless pride. Her daughter, Shiela Smith, and son-in-law Jimmy Smith provided her with unwavering support and love. Joyce's legacy continues through her three cherished grandchildren, Adriana and Isabella Idoria, and Aleah Smith, who will carry forward her lessons of love and kindness. Her great-granddaughter, Tiarlee Rowe, brought her immeasurable joy and hope for the future. In addition to her immediate family, Joyce’s life was enriched by many close friends and bonus children who regarded her as a mother figure. They will forever remember her as a beacon of warmth and guidance, a testament to the inclusive family she built around her. As we bid farewell to Joyce, we are comforted by the memories of her laughter, her generous spirit, and the indelible mark she left on all who knew her. Her life was a tapestry woven with love, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held in the coming days, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember the beautiful soul that blessed our lives. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Joyce’s memory to a charity dedicated to cancer research, continuing her legacy of care and compassion. Though Joyce has departed from this world, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved her. We find solace in knowing that she is now at peace, tending to the gardens of heaven.
