It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joyce Kay Tyler, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world peacefully on April 30, 2026, at the age of 68, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 7, 1957, in Muskegon, Michigan, Joyce was a beacon of warmth and kindness whose spirit touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Joyce was the beloved daughter of Donald and Elsie White, who preceded her in death along with her brother Don, sisters Sherry and Nancy, and her dear son Tony. Her legacy, however, lives on through her devoted husband, Ronald James Tyler, whom she married on May 5, 1989. Together, they built a family rooted in love and compassion, a testament to the life they shared.
She is survived by her loving children: Ricky White, Michael Tyler, Kristina Tyler, Steve (Nicole) Tyler, Andrew (Melissa) Tyler, and Shannon Tyler (Matt Beerman). Joyce's heart and home were always full, and she took great pride in her family, which grew to include 28 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy. Her siblings, Ronnie White, Donna (Alan) Berry, and Barb (Ron) Kowalski, also carry forward her memory, along with countless extended family members and friends who adored her.
Joyce's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to those she loved. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for five years, providing care and comfort to those in need, before spending 15 years at Meijer, where her friendly demeanor and warmth were appreciated by colleagues and customers alike. Her commitment to helping others was evident in every role she undertook.
Joyce found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved fishing and camping, relishing the tranquility of nature and the adventure of the outdoors. Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by family, cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events, and sharing stories that captivated audiences with her vivid storytelling. She also enjoyed the occasional visit to the casino, where her laughter and excitement were infectious.
Known for her open arms and welcoming smile, Joyce had a unique gift for making everyone feel valued and special. Her loving and supportive nature resonated with family and friends, creating an atmosphere of warmth wherever she went.
Joyce Kay Tyler's legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will continue to inspire and uplift all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love and gratitude.
