In the peaceful embrace of her cherished home in Blue Springs, Ms. Joyce Junita Bridges departed this world on ___, at the age of 87. Her final moments were filled with love, surrounded by her devoted family, a testament to the life of warmth and compassion that she led.
Born on April 2, 1939, in Norman, The daughter of Tillman Standridge and Pearle Head Standridge, she was raised Arkansas. Joyce was a beacon of kindness and strength to all who knew her. The daughter of Tillman Standridge and Pearle Head Standridge. Her life was one marked by dedication to love, family, and service.
In 1959, Joyce exchanged wedding vows with the love of her life, Ed Bridges, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, spanning 67 remarkable years. As a devoted military wife, Joyce embraced the transient nature of their life, finding joy and adventure in the many states they called home. Her adaptability and zest for life were inspiring, as she made every house a home filled with warmth and laughter.
Though Joyce had aspirations of becoming a nurse, life had other plans. Her nurturing spirit found its way into the lives of many through her work as an X-ray and EKG technician in various hospitals. Her career path later took her to the Alaskan Pipeline, where she was known for her diligent work ethic. Joyce concluded her professional journey with a 20-year tenure at the United Postal Service as an office clerk and rural driver, where her dedication to service was an inspiration to her colleagues and friends.
A woman of deep faith, Joyce was an active member of the Blue Springs Baptist Church community. Her love for God and her fellow congregants was reflected in her years of teaching Sunday School and assisting with Vacation Bible School. Her commitment to her faith was a guiding light in her life, providing comfort and direction.
Joyce was a master homemaker, whose talents in sewing, crocheting, knitting, and cooking were renowned. Her garden was a reflection of her vibrant spirit, and she found peace and joy in fishing, hunting, and bird watching. Her home was a sanctuary where friends and family gathered, always welcomed by the warmth of her hospitality and a delicious meal.
Her giving nature was a hallmark of her character; Joyce was ever-ready with a helping hand or a comforting word. Whether it was a homemade meal or a shoulder to lean on, she was a steadfast friend in times of need.
Joyce was predeceased by her beloved parents, Tillman and Pearle Standridge, in-laws Tipp and Grace Bridges, her son Dennis Bridges, and her grandson Jamie Warren. She is survived by her loving husband, Ed Bridges, her daughter Lisa Warren and son-in-law Ricky Warren, her cherished grandchildren Caleb Warren and his wife Ali, and Ana-Grace Warren, as well as her great-grandchild, Walker Bridges Warren.
The legacy Joyce leaves behind is one of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those she held dear. Her memory will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have been touched by her gentle spirit. She will be dearly missed, but her love and the lessons she imparted will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
