It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of our beloved Joyce I. Anderson, who departed this life peacefully at her home on April 30, 2026. Born on June 2, 1951, in the vibrant city of Memphis, Tennessee, Joyce's life was a tapestry of warmth, strength, and genuine kindness. Joyce was the cherished daughter of the late Johnnie and Minnie Washington Wilkerson, who instilled in her the values of compassion, resilience, and generosity. These values guided Joyce throughout her life as she devoted herself to her family and community with unwavering love and dedication. A pillar of strength and source of unconditional love, Joyce is survived by her two devoted sons, James Anderson of Cordova, TN, and Johny Anderson (Tierney) of Indianapolis, IN, who carry forward her legacy of kindness and integrity. Her nurturing spirit lives on in her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life and whom she adored beyond measure. Joyce also leaves behind her beloved sister, Jean Tate, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and a bond that transcends time. Joyce's life was a testament to the power of love and family. Her home was a sanctuary filled with laughter, warmth, and the aromas of her famous homemade meals. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome and cherished, and she imparted wisdom that will echo through generations. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted member of the Union Grove Baptist Church community, where she found spiritual nourishment and lifelong friendships. Joyce's kindness extended beyond her family; she touched the lives of many through her volunteer work and her unwavering commitment to helping those in need. A celebration of Joyce's life will take place on May 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church, located at 2285 Frayser Blvd, Memphis, TN 38127.
