In Loving Memory of Joyce Elaine Sutton It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Joyce Elaine Sutton, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, who departed from this world on May 6, 2026, after a courageous battle with endometriosis cancer. Joyce was born on November 26, 1963, in the charming town of McClellanville, South Carolina. Her life was a testament to strength, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. Raised by her loving parents, Majors Coats and Thelma Sutton, Joyce grew up in a home filled with warmth and compassion, values she carried with her throughout her life. She attended Sheepshead Bay High School in Brooklyn, New York, where she laid the foundation for a life dedicated to serving others. Joyce's professional journey was marked by her commitment to the healthcare system, where she worked tirelessly to ensure the elderly received the care and resources necessary for a dignified life. She was a beacon of hope and support, helping countless individuals secure the right insurance and access to essential medications. Her career was not just a job but a calling to uplift those in need. At the heart of Joyce's life was her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Herbert Blair, who stood by her side through life's joys and challenges. Her legacy continues through her cherished children: daughter Shannay, son Carl Sloclombe, and daughters Tiffany and Lakia Sutton, who carry forward her spirit of generosity and love. Her mother, Thelma Sutton of Stone Mountain, remains a pillar of strength for the family, as do her siblings Cherie H. Baiden (Emmanuel) of New York, Greta Y. Marshall (George) of Stone Mountain, and her nieces and nephews, Janeria, Shawn, Shalaisa, Jamel, Quamel, Kriye, and Dimriye. Joyce's extended family includes her beloved aunties Rosa, Eva, Joan, and uncles Michael, Teal, and Ronnie, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Joyce's vibrant personality shone through in her hobbies and interests. A natural cook, she was the heart of every gathering, creating culinary masterpieces that brought people together. Her artistic talents were boundless, from drawing to bedazzling, and she shared her gifts freely, never asking for anything in return. Whether it was decorating for a party or crafting t-shirts and glasses on cruises, Joyce's creativity and generosity left an indelible mark on all who knew her. In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Joyce's remarkable life. Her family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Hope and Kidney Foundation, organizations that reflect Joyce's enduring dedication to helping others. We bid farewell to Joyce Elaine Sutton with sadness but also with immense gratitude for the love and light she brought into our lives. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her legacy continue to inspire kindness and compassion in the world.
