Joyce Elaine Blake Glanville

It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Joyce Elaine Blake Glanville, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Joyce departed this world on July 31, 2026, at the age of 85, in the comforting presence of her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 17, 1941, in the quaint town of Humansville, Missouri, Joyce was the cherished daughter of Blanche and Glen Blake. Her life's journey was marked by a devotion to family, education, and faith, leaving an indelible impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. In 1959, Joyce married the love of her life, Charles Glanville II, and together they built a beautiful family until his passing. Her unwavering love and commitment to her husband and children, Cathy Schonberger and Charles W. Glanville, were a cornerstone of her life. As a devoted grandmother, Joyce's heart was full of pride and affection for her grandchildren: Nichole Glanville, Christopher Schonberger, Charlie Glanville, Cassie Glanville, Donnie Morehead, Crystal Teerlink, Samantha Wood, and Chris Mumm. Joyce was also blessed with the companionship of her loving partner, Robbie Neal Low, who brought joy to her later years. Her siblings, Jean Cooper, John Fox, and Nancy Holmer, shared a close bond with her, enriching her life with warmth and laughter. A lifelong learner, Joyce pursued higher education with zeal, earning her Bachelor's degree from Southern Baptist University and her Master's from Missouri State University. Her passion for nurturing young minds found expression in her career as an elementary teacher and later as a high school counselor, where she touched countless lives with her wisdom and kindness. Joyce's faith was a guiding force throughout her life. She was an active member of both the United Methodist Church and the Olive Point Baptist Church, where she contributed her time and energy to the community she held dear. Her legacy of love and generosity is carried on by a host of wonderful friends who cherished her companionship and unwavering support. A small celebration of Joyce's life will be held on August 11, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Olive Point Baptist Church in Urbana, MO. A larger celebration will be held at a later date to include her friends. Joyce Elaine Blake Glanville will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her dedication to family and education, and her steadfast faith. Her life, rich with love and purpose, remains a beacon of inspiration to all.
