Joyce Ann Lewis
August 1, 1972 — July 28, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Ann Lewis, a cherished soul who left this world peacefully on July 28, 2026. Born on August 1, 1972, in Lumberton, NC, Joyce was the beloved daughter of Deborah Ann Patterson Lewis and Pete Lewis, both of whom have preceded her in death. Joyce's final moments were spent surrounded by love at the McLeod Trauma Center in Florence, SC.
Joyce lived a life rich in love, laughter, and dedication. She was a devoted mother to her three children, Jordan Lewis, Jaquawn Mitchell, and Jashawn Floyd, and a doting grandmother to her treasured grandchildren, Jayden Lewis, Jordan Lewis, Eden Townsend, and Violet Floyd. Joyce's family was the center of her world, and she shared a deep, unshakable bond with her fiancé, Ronald West, with whom she was planning a beautiful future.
Joyce's kindness and warmth extended beyond her immediate family. She was a cherished sister to Vincent Lewis, Toshia Lewis, and Tanell Lewis, and her life was further enriched by her special friends, Yolanda Gaston and Serena Blanks, as well as her very special cousin, DeVangelo Brown.
A proud graduate of the Class of 1990, Joyce was educated in the schools of Parkton and St. Paul's, NC. She dedicated 26 years of her life to her career at Smithfield Fresh Meats Corporation, where her hard work and commitment left a lasting impact.
Joyce was a faithful member of the Covenant of Love Church in St. Paul's, NC, where she embraced her faith and accepted Jesus as her Savior. Her laughter was contagious, and she found great joy in making others smile, leaving behind memories that will forever warm the hearts of those who knew her.
A service to honor and celebrate Joyce's life will be held on August 6, 2026, at 3:00 PM at McKoy & Sons Mortuary, located at 412 E. Armfield St., St. Paul's, NC 28384. Family and friends are invited to join in remembrance and to share in the love that Joyce so freely gave.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at McLeod Trauma Center, and to all the friends and loved ones who showed unwavering support and kindness during this difficult time. Joyce Ann Lewis will be forever missed, but her legacy of love and laughter will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
