Joy was born on August 17, 1955, in the charming town of Presque Isle, Maine, to her loving parents, Rene and Cecilia Smart Cote. Joy's life was a testament to her generous spirit and unwavering dedication to her family. As a devoted mother to her cherished daughter, Nicole Gohar, Joy's nurturing love extended to her grandchildren, Brianna Gohar, Jason Kiyah Leduc, Jeremiah, and AJ Medina, and further to her great-grandchildren, Dillon, Jaxon, and Lucas. Her family was the center of her universe, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Joy was predeceased by her parents, her beloved son Matthew Smart, her sisters Roseann, Nancy, and Sandra, and her brothers Gene, Paul, Charlie, and Peter. She is survived by her three dear brothers, Robert, Fred, and David Smart, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. For many years, Joy dedicated her professional life to the manufacturing industry, where she worked diligently as a machinist and operator. Her strong work ethic and attention to detail were admired by colleagues and friends alike. Outside of her career, Joy found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was a culinary enthusiast who loved to cook and host family gatherings, filling her home with warmth, laughter, and delicious aromas. Joy had a talent for engaging in meaningful conversations with anyone she met, always lending an ear and offering support whenever she could. Her love for family was matched only by her passion for playing games on her tablet and watching classic television shows. Joy had a heart as vast as the skies, and her love knew no bounds. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to those she held dear. Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories of her vibrant spirit and the profound impact she had on their lives.
